I straddle a wide range of social strata.
On one hand, I have a friend whose family’s address is in the prime shopping district in town. The family business is a private fund management of sorts and the advice dispensed to my friend is to learn how to invest in the family business. That way she can be pregnant and make money while at home investing her own money.
On the other hand, most of my friends’ were given the advice of studying hard and then of seeking a good paying job after graduation. My friends’ are now the ones passing the advice down to their children.
It is telling.
