Leather is fundamentally at odds with sustainability, which I am concerned about. Hence I actively email and contact the companies at the forefront of vegan leather in order that I may start persuading my customers to buy my sustainable (for real) products.
However, there is simply no supply, and no reply. I suspect that beyond the persuasive sales pitches and their cool millennial attracting high quality videos, this new industry is too cost prohibitive and the patents in force prevent collective intelligence, a la entry of competitors into the market, from bringing costs down and raising the market supply.
